Grindylow of the Briny Deep

Grindylow of briny deep,
Murderous nature that they keep.

Writhing tentacles, spear and net,
Power though the tides with inky jet.
Creep aboard vindictive and wet,
To slumbering sailors deathly a threat.

Grindylow, Grindylow of briny deep,
Sailor’s wives they cause to weep.

Malicious and wicked hunger drive,
Piercing darkness with beady eye.
Aberrations of water, heartless and sly,
Pillage and raid all of sea-kind.

Grindylow, Grindylow of briny deep,
Merfolk flesh they often reap.

Hidden deep below surf and wave,
Endless labyrinth of rocky cave.
Deep within, atop mass sailor graves,
A Dark Queen reigns her slippery slaves.

Grindylow, Grindylow of briny deep,
Along the shore they lurk and creep.

Half Goblin-half Octopus lovers of pain,
Minimal intellect, few are called sane.
Octopus worshipped in the open main.
It’s cousin the squid, their ultimate bane.

Grindylow, grindylow of briny deep,
Away from our ships we pray that they keep…
