1 drink: 1 pint of ale/mead/beer
1 glass of wine
1 shot of wiskey/vodka/rum etc
You can consume as many drinks as your constitution modifier without penalty.
After that you need to make a fort check for every drink you consume. Starting at dc 10, and increases by 2 for every drink you have.
The dc for the fort check is effected by a number of things:
-not having anything to eat in the last 3 hours increases the initial dc by 3
-having had a large meal in the last hour decreases the initial dc by 2
-being small size increases the initial dc by 2, and every drink increases the dc by 3 instead of 2
-being large size decreases the initial dc by 2, and every drink increases the dc by 1 instead of 2
-vomiting drops decreases your current dc by 5
-every hour without drinking reduces the dc by 1
-every failed check increases the dc by 2
Failing the checks
For every failed check you increase your level of drunkeness.
1 Failed Check is Tipsy
When tipsy you take -1 on all checks that aren’t cha based. Cha based skills gain +2
2 Failed Checks is Merry
When merry you take -2 on all checks that aren’t cha based. Cha based skills gain +3
3 Failed Checks is Drunk
When drunk you take -4 on all checks. Speed is reduced by 10 ft. Dex, Int and Wis are reduced by 2
4 Failed Checks is Plastered
When plastered you take -6 on all checks. Speed is reduced to 10 ft. Dex, Int and Wis are reduced by 4. You must make a dc 15 fort check to not vomit if you wish to move at your full speed in any round or make any combat action.
5 Failed Checks is Pass Out Drunk
When pass out drunk you take -10 on all checks. Speed is reduced to 5 ft, and vision is reduced to 10 ft. Dex, Int and Wis are reduced by 6. You must pass a dc 20 fort check to not vomit any time you wish to move in any way. You must pass a dc 10 fort save or pass out every round.
It is important to note, that the check penalties imposed by the drunkeness levels does not effect your fort saves to consume alcohol.
The following morning you will have a hangover if you failed any fort checks in the previous night.
The hangover confers a penalty to all checks equal to the drunkeness level you reached the night before. This penalty decreases by 1 every 2 hours you dont consume alcohol.
Hair of the dog: raising yourself to any drunkeness level will eliminate all penalties incurred by the hangover.
